Industrial Check Valve Manufacturer

WDL Valve manufactures industrial check valves that prevent reverse flow and protect pumps, compressors and process equipment in oil and gas, power, marine, water and chemical systems.

We supply swing check and application-specific non-return valve solutions in carbon steel, stainless steel and corrosion-resistant alloys, with pressure classes and end connections matched to the piping specification.

API 6D swing check valve

Reliable Non-Return Protection

A check valve must respond to changing flow without creating unacceptable pressure loss, slam or water hammer. Correct selection depends on line size, velocity, fluid properties, installation position, minimum flow and the transient behavior of the system.

Swing Check

A hinged disc provides low-resistance non-return service for many horizontal and selected vertical pipelines.

High-Pressure Service

Pressure-class, wall thickness, cover design and trim are selected for the project pressure-temperature envelope.

Corrosive Media

Duplex, titanium, Monel, Hastelloy, Inconel, zirconium and nickel alloys support aggressive process conditions.

Selection and Engineering Inputs

For stable operation, the valve should be sized using actual flow conditions rather than line size alone. The engineering review considers cracking pressure, disc travel, closing response, velocity, orientation and the possibility of pulsating or intermittent flow.

Flanged or butt-weld ends, bolted or pressure-seal covers, renewable seats and external lever or counterweight arrangements can be evaluated where applicable.

Applications, Testing and Documentation

Industrial check valves are used on pump discharge lines, compressor systems, steam and condensate services, cooling water, seawater, hydrocarbon processing and chemical transfer. Each configuration is reviewed against the applicable API, ASME, BS, EN, DIN or project requirement.

Quality documentation can include material certificates, dimensional records, shell and seat test reports, non-destructive examination records and third-party inspection support. Special testing is confirmed during quotation.

What to Send with Your RFQ

Provide size, class, design standard, end connection, body and trim materials, medium, operating and design conditions, flow rate, installation orientation, quantity and any special testing or documentation requirements. If slam or water hammer is a concern, include pump or compressor operating data.

Industrial Check Valve FAQs

Can a check valve be used as an isolation valve?

A check valve is an automatic non-return device, not a substitute for a dedicated block valve where positive isolation is required. Use an appropriate isolation valve for maintenance safety.

What causes check valve slam?

Slam can occur when reverse velocity builds before the disc closes. Oversizing, low flow, long travel and rapid pump shutdown can increase the risk.

Can check valves be installed vertically?

Some designs can operate in vertical upward flow, but orientation must be confirmed for the specific valve and operating conditions. Downward vertical flow is generally unsuitable for a conventional swing check.
