Zirconium Butterfly Valve
WDL Zirconium Butterfly Valve provides compact quarter-turn isolation or flow regulation for acetic and formic acid processing and selected sulfuric acid systems. Connections, trim and operation are selected to the project conditions.
Description
Zirconium Butterfly Valve
WDL Zirconium Butterfly Valve provides compact quarter-turn isolation or flow regulation for process systems that need resistance to many strong acids and corrosive chemical mixtures. Zirconium is used for severe acid duties where stainless steels and many nickel alloys cannot provide an acceptable corrosion rate.

Selection Notes
Fluoride-containing media, hydrofluoric acid and some oxidizing halides require special review because they can attack zirconium.
Specify shutoff direction, seat material, flange standard, solids content and required operating torque.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why select Zirconium for this butterfly valve?
Zirconium is used for severe acid duties where stainless steels and many nickel alloys cannot provide an acceptable corrosion rate. Final suitability depends on the complete process conditions and the selected valve trim.
What information is needed for selection?
Provide the size, pressure rating, medium composition, concentration, temperature, connection standard, operating method and required quantity.
Send the process datasheet to WDL for material review, dimensional confirmation and quotation.
