Titanium Gate Valve
WDL Titanium Gate Valve provides full-bore on-off isolation with low pressure loss when open for seawater and desalination plants and chlor-alkali processing. Connections, trim and operation are selected to the project conditions.
Description
Titanium Gate Valve
WDL Titanium Gate Valve provides full-bore on-off isolation with low pressure loss when open for process systems that need corrosion resistance in seawater, chlorides and many oxidizing media. Titanium forms a stable passive film in many chloride-rich and oxidizing process streams.
Design Options
| Item | Available specification |
|---|---|
| Material | Titanium Grade 2, 3, 5, 7, 12 or project grade |
| Function | full-bore on-off isolation with low pressure loss when open |
| Connections | Flanged or butt-welded |
| Operation | Handwheel, gearbox, pneumatic or electric actuator |
| Design basis | API 600, API 603, API 6D or ASME B16.34 |
Typical Applications
- Seawater and desalination plants
- Chlor-alkali processing
- Hypochlorite service
- Main process isolation
- Full-bore pipeline service
Selection Notes
Dry chlorine, hydrofluoric acid and strongly reducing media require separate review; titanium is not universal for every acid.
Gate valves are normally selected for isolation rather than continuous throttling; confirm wedge, seat and stem design.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why select Titanium for this gate valve?
Titanium forms a stable passive film in many chloride-rich and oxidizing process streams. Final suitability depends on the complete process conditions and the selected valve trim.
What information is needed for selection?
Provide the size, pressure rating, medium composition, concentration, temperature, connection standard, operating method and required quantity.
Send the process datasheet to WDL for material review, dimensional confirmation and quotation.
