Hastelloy Valve Manufacturer for Chemical Service

WDL Valve supplies Hastelloy ball, butterfly, gate, globe, check, plug and discharge valves for corrosive chemical, petrochemical and severe process applications. The exact nickel-alloy grade, wetted trim and sealing system are selected from the fluid composition, concentration, temperature and pressure.

Selecting the Correct Hastelloy Grade

Hastelloy is a family of nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloys rather than one single material. Grades such as C-276 and C-22 may be specified for different combinations of acids, chlorides, oxidizing contaminants and temperature.

The valve body name alone is not enough. Ball or disc, stem, seat, packing, gasket, fasteners and any weld overlay must be checked against the same process conditions.

Typical Applications

Hastelloy valves may be evaluated for fine chemicals, acids, chlorinated media, solvent production, pharmaceutical processing, pollution control, pulp and paper bleaching, petrochemical processes and mixed corrosive streams. Suitability depends on the precise alloy grade and actual operating chemistry, including trace contaminants and cleaning fluids.

Hastelloy Valve FAQs

Are all Hastelloy grades interchangeable?

No. Different grades have different alloy chemistry and corrosion performance. The grade specified for one process should not be substituted without an engineering review.

Does every component need to be Hastelloy?

Not always, but every wetted and pressure-retaining component must be compatible with the process. The datasheet should clearly state which parts require solid alloy, overlay or another material.

What information prevents an incorrect quotation?

Provide the chemical composition, concentrations, temperature range, pressure, valve size and design, alloy grade, seat requirements and inspection scope.
