WDL Valve supplies Monel 400 ball, butterfly, gate, globe, check, plug and discharge valves for marine, seawater, hydrofluoric-acid-related and other project-specified corrosive duties. The complete wetted-part arrangement is reviewed against the actual process chemistry.
Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy selected for its performance in many marine and reducing environments. It may be considered for seawater, brine and certain acid or alkali services where common stainless steels are unsuitable.
Suitability depends on concentration, aeration, temperature, velocity, contaminants and galvanic contact. The alloy name alone does not confirm compatibility.

Monel valves may be evaluated for shipboard piping, seawater cooling, offshore utilities, salt production, chemical processing and selected acid, alkali or solvent services. Confirm every wetted component, including stem, ball or disc, seat, packing, gasket and fasteners.
For marine material comparisons, see the Seawater & Desalination Valves guide.
Monel is a nickel-copper alloy family. Its corrosion behavior differs from nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, so the specific process must determine the material.
Only after compatibility and galvanic effects are reviewed. A quotation should state the material of every wetted component.
Specify the exact alloy designation, component list, PMI requirements and material certificate level in the purchase specification.
Provide the media composition and operating envelope for a Monel valve material review and quotation.
Send your valve specifications, drawings or RFQ. Our engineering team will review the operating conditions and contact you with a suitable solution.
