Tantalum Ball Valve
WDL Tantalum Ball Valve provides quarter-turn isolation with a direct flow path and tight shutoff for hydrochloric acid equipment and sulfuric acid process lines. Connections, trim and operation are selected to the project conditions.
Description
Tantalum Ball Valve
WDL Tantalum Ball Valve provides quarter-turn isolation with a direct flow path and tight shutoff for process systems that need acid resistance in selected highly corrosive chemical processes. Tantalum-wetted construction is considered for severe acid service when corrosion allowance is not an acceptable solution.
Design Options
| Item | Available specification |
|---|---|

Typical Applications
- Hydrochloric acid equipment
- Sulfuric acid process lines
- Acid recovery systems
- Tight process isolation
- Automated emergency or batch shutoff
Selection Notes
Hydrofluoric acid, fluoride salts and strong alkaline media require separate compatibility review and are not default tantalum applications.
Confirm floating or trunnion design, cavity relief, seat material, fire-safe requirement and bore size.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why select Tantalum for this ball valve?
Tantalum-wetted construction is considered for severe acid service when corrosion allowance is not an acceptable solution. Final suitability depends on the complete process conditions and the selected valve trim.
What information is needed for selection?
Provide the size, pressure rating, medium composition, concentration, temperature, connection standard, operating method and required quantity.
Send the process datasheet to WDL for material review, dimensional confirmation and quotation.
